I have one of these manifolds and I'm good friends and business partners with
the actual designer of the manifold, Aelred Smith. He said back when I got
mine (+7 yrs or so) that you should use the Sport Quattro fasteners. They are
the same P/N for every UrQ/SQ with every engine combination. You'll need the
following:
N 900 955 01, Washer, 8.4X15X4, qty. 10
N 902 002 02, Shouldered hex. nut, self locking, 8mm, qty. 10
N 012 608 1, Lock nut, 8mm, qty 10
I personally prefer safety wire, and I drill the lock nuts at a diagonal for
.032 stainless steel safety wire.
On top of this, if you have the head off the engine, I would Heli-coil the EM
studs. Heli-coil threads are much stronger than the threads tapped into the
aluminum head. Every tread on every aluminum aircraft part I've ever had my
hands on after 12 years of working on aircraft was Heli-coiled.
I personally think the Dialynx EM is a great design.
