Funny how things happen sometimes...
Well, during my journey through the Lemfoerder catalogue, I discovered
that some Renault ball joints are visually identical to the Audi's. Now,
we'll have to see if they are correctly sized for our application.
The 3 Renaults parts I am referring to are :
- 77 01 468 883 (Lemfoerder #12119) which fits Clio and R21...
- 77 01 472 038 (Lemfoerder #26768) which fits Megane...
- 77 01 469 464 (Lemfoerder #22342) Megane Diesel...
It's a shame I discover this now, as I spent the last 18 months within
the walls of the Renault technical center...
Can anyone in France, the UK or Mexico stop at a Renault dealer (or any
FLAPS) and measure the diameter of the shank of these 3 ball joints ? We
want 18 mm if my memory is right.
For us in North America, we'll have to find an Eagle Medaillon (Renault
21) or an Eagle Premier (Renault 25) or a place that has ball joints for
these cars and measure the shank. Anyone ?
On my side, I will ask my former colleagues to see if they can measure
them for me.
More to follow !
