... all the air that passes through the Aux Air Regulator is metered ... it doesn't matter how wide open it is or it is closed, the mixture will be the same ... the only thing that changes is the amount of air that is allowed to flow into the engine, and thus the idle speed. The only thing deliberately affecting the mixture outside the fuel distributor (and its associated bits) is the cold start valve on the intake manifold.
