I have been reading this thread with some curiosity.
My guess is that all listers at some time or another have posted their
dismay about "having" to interact with "the stealer/dealer" from time to time.
Why then are we crying about wanting more parts from them?
What we want is OE quality parts from a quality supplier that actually CARES
_and_ prices their product with the "cost +" as opposed to captive market
mentality. That may be a tall order if not totally impossible especially
considering our production numbers.
I for one feel that it is still worth a shot to push for manufacturer
support. All they can say is no. At the very least- force them to say it publicly
and repeatedly! Then the public record is clear.
As a previous ABS (Audi Brand Specialist) I had these same conversations
with our regional Audi reps on several occasions, and got the very same (almost
verbatim) response.
Auto sales is a very "Hero to Zero in 24 hours or less" business. We need a
power broker somewhere in the hierarchy of the vertical structure that
understands big picture and sees satisfied owners as valuable.
I'm not optimistic, but my activist side wants to at least cause them as
much consternation as they have caused us.
