... excellent point Jim!  I was just responding to the question about disassembling the FD.  In addition to Jim's suggestion you should also verify the fuel flow rate to the fuel distributor by letting the pump run into a graduated cylinder and verify that the fuel delivery rate is in spec.  

Let's also explore the problem symptoms more fully ... Are we talking about a stumble on throttle application or is it consistent when the engine is running at WOT?  If there is a fuel delivery problem it should be consistent, not transient.  If you have a transient stumble, I don't think I'd immediately try to associate it to a fuel tank lining disintegration problem.  I'd look more to ensuring the pressure transducer in the ECU was working along with all of the parametric sensors the ECU has to work with.
