I don't think any "listers" were casting any aspersions to Carroll
Shelby's racing achievements.  This "lister" might well point out others
with similar backgrounds who are equally famous in their own right, but
did not make names for themselves selling "kit cars" ... as another
"lister" put it.  

I am completely in awe of Carroll Shelby ... for much more than even his
accomplishments as a racer and car builder.  From this "lister's"
perspective it is perfectly fine to be a great racer, car builder *AND*
a good marketer ... 

Being an engineer myself, I have a lot of respect for Mr. Shelby's
engineering management skills as well. He might well be second only to
Kelley Johnson in my mind as a person I would have loved to work for ...
and whose management style I try to emulate.
