Just to clarify the confusing names of the 5 turbo:

The first front wheel drive R5 turbo, front engine and standard bodywork
is this one, Renault 5 Alpine turbo:

The Alpine name was not used in GB because Roots owned that name. They
were called there Renault 5 Gordini. http://www.r5gordini.co.uk/ 


The Group B homologation special has 2 versions :
- The first version of the original Renault 5 turbo, all were blue or
red with the colorful red-blue interior, rear engine, rear wheel drive,
wider bodywork :

- Then, there was a version of the same car, mechanically identical, but
with a standard R5 interior : it is called the Renault 5 Turbo 2:

Nonetheless, any R5 turbo rwd is a good choice. One will be in my
driveway someday...
