[urq] Obsolete 1984

I always figured I'd pay a $1500 premium for an 84 but now I'll have to cut that to $750. 1986 suspension - does that have the bigger wheel bearings? I bet the 86 suspension will be hard to get in the USA.
With parts being in short supply - I bet folks stock up for private inventories - which helps clear out parts warehouses and up Audi's profits.
If anyone buys a new 2007 BMW - don't forget to send a letter to Audi explaining why you choose BMW.

I tried to buy inner front sway bar bushes for my '84 ur-q yesterday -
the
part is now obsolete, along with the earlier style. Audi want me to
change
subframes to the '86+ type. And just how long will the bushes for these
be around?

Given Audi's policy to obsolete parts required to keep a car "on the
road"
can anyone suggest ways we might persuade Audi to re-think their
strategy?
This continues to piss me off.

....and short fenders at double the price - words fail me......
