Well, you gotta love air tools !
To cut the studs, I found some mini-discs (3") that I installed on my
die grinder. With patience, both studs were removed from the car without
additional damages.
Now, if one of you wants to try this job: do as Martin said and let the
engine weight pull down on the studs. There is only 3mm of the knurled
section that bites in the body, so it is no surprise that they spin
easily in their bore. Oh well...
