[urq] windshield replacement

Yesterday, I decided I wanted to start driving the UrQ even thought the  
paint looks like garbage and I have the common rust bubble on the passenger rear  
quarter wheel arch. It will be going to the body shop probably by the end of 
the  summer. I had a cracked windshield and I needed to replace it. I purchased 
a  brand new windshield from Audi and had to import a new seal from Germany. 
I was  using soapy water in a spray bottle to help lube the seal. I started at 
the  bottom corners and worked my way up the sides, I then had the top 
corners in and  was only left with about an 8 inch section in the middle that needed 
to sit  flush. My wife's uncle who lives next door was in my way and just had 
to help.  He's old and has never turned a tool on any cars, but he knows it 
all. (yes, I'm  being sarcastic) I'm on the inside of the car trying to work 
the seal from the  inside, when he stands up and puts his full weight on the 
seal that hasn't gone  into the channel yet. You guessed it, the brand new 
windshield cracked from the  top to the bottom and made a good effort to go from 
left to right. F$%K!!!!!!!!!  I yelled. He knew I was very angry and went back 
home. So, $300 down the toilet.  I WAS ALMOST THERE!!! All I could talk about 
was after the windshield, I'm going  to install the dash and interior, then 
finish the e-brake cables, then run it  through inspection and drive the damn 
thing!!!! I almost threw up I was so  pissed off.
 
I have another brand new windshield coming from Audi. I will be here in a  
week or so. There are only 6 left in North America, if you want original Audi  
glass.
