Given the fact that bomb failures are a well known issue for all turbo'ed Audis it is difficult to make any claim about the improved safety of the hydraulic assist. I suppose the vacuum servos fail too, but I don't hear very much of them. The concern is that there will not be sufficient assist vacuum built up in the reservoir because the engine is on boost ... a buddy of mine had a Toyota Supra Turbo ... on that car there was an auxiliary electric vacuum pump that ensured there was ample reserve ... certainly a similar scheme could be fitted to an Audi should the owner be worried about a loss of assist.

I've got an idea ... use a spare pneumatic lock bi-pressure pump! (joking of course!)
