[urq] Mine will not read full : anyone have a fuel guage?

True, if the sender is not replaced correctly the float can't rise fully.

As a datapoint Steve, mine has read a hair above 3/4 of a tank when I
fill it up since I bought the car.  Note that I know it's full based
on the amount I'm pumping into it.

I've heard that the arm that sits in the tank with the sensor on it
has a very small area in which it can swing as far as it needs to, and
that if they're not re-installed very carefully, this can happen.  My
dad had a 5ktqa which did the same thing until he messed with it.
