[urq] Diff lock mods?

i changed the way my diff locks work a long time ago... i think in 1999 or 2000. The first time i did it, i basically unplugged the line to the rear diff, rearranged the lines in the back of diff switch, and had it just lock the center diff when i pulled on the knob. then, i spent maybe 15 bucks and got the 2 position knob that allowed me to lock center, or lock center rear...

all i had to do was use the bently to look at how the later systems were plumbed, and run a couple lengths of vacuum tubing that i got from the dealer... it was pretty easy... though, i had a lot of problems running hte line at first,... but then i realized that if i followed the center tranny tunnel, and then ran it under the carpet on top of the tunnel and down/out where the handbrake is... i could use the brackets that are along the underside of the tunnel to hold the tubing out of the way of the prop shaft, and it saved a LOT of time.

i remember, too, that i cut the lengths of hard tubing in half, and used some rubber vacuum line to splice them back together at the point where they would bend down and go out through the handbrake - this way they could make the turn out of the car and not kink, and it kept them from being visible...

then, when i did the dash upgrade to 4kq style, i used the 4kq rotary knob, and it just worked perfectly w/ what i already did...

they work perfectly... once i cleaned and lubed the bowden cable that locks the center diff, it had a much easier time engaging and disengaging...
