[urq] front end clunk

Another source of front end clunks possible in pretty much all Audis (and VWs and Porsches I'm told) is the wheel bearing shifting side-to-side in the hub housing. I had this happen on my first 1987 4kq back when it was new and under warranty. Lound clunk too. The dealer tech explained the problem/cure to me (it involved a shim with a wheel bearing replacement--he called it his "914 trick"). I have never explored this myself in any of the many Audis I have owned since, but it makes sense and they did fix the problem on my 4kq way back when that way. I think our '95 A6q avant may be suffering from this and that will be my first opportunity to try and resolve it myself (by the way--anyone have a wheel bearing tool they want to loan???).
