Given the number of large cars I've owned with this bearing ... why would you try to 
mickey mouse it versus just replacing it?


Another source of front end clunks possible in pretty much all Audis (and VWs and Porsches 
I'm told) is the wheel bearing shifting side-to-side in
the hub housing.
