I also just threw a set of Silverstars in my new to me A6 Avant. The headlight adjustment was way off and they just plain sucked. After the new bulbs and readjust, they are actually quite good !  I paid $26 for the pair at the local Advance Auto Parts...

Good question, I've been contemplating these as well ... and I see that there are even dual lamp H4 units as well ... 

Another comparison ... I just got a set of "Silverstar" bulbs for the H4 (9003) on my motorcycle ... they put out a much brighter beam as well ... anyone have any comparisons between these options? BTW, I found the Silverstars on sale at Target last week.
