Where to start...
long of the story...
I thought I had found a replacement head...from what I thought was a KH (I forget the email is at home)motor which should of been off a 83 5K turbo...with solid lifters...
When i got the head, I never thought to look at the "pucks" because I was more concerned about the crackign between the valves...and the matching of the oil ports etc. In any case, the machine shop called, and said, it came back pressure tested fine, cracks are not an issue, BUT its has hydrulic lifters.
So in talking to them, they are telling me it should be possible to take my cam and solid lifters and swap them out as the solid lifters should block the oil ports anyway. But the next question he raised was that the Fuel injector bungs are different and i might want to research that? before I start having it rebuilt?
I guess I have two questions, one, has anyone ever swapped backwards? from Hyd to solid? and anyone have any clue about the Fuel injector inserts to make sure depth and seating are correct?
Or do I start looking for another head and only get a WX head???
