It's wedged in there. I have a plan to remove it, but requires engine drop
down or come forward.

The tranny will come in contact with the steering gear if the linkages are not
removed from the steering rack prior to backing the tranny off. If you do
this, there should be just enough room to clear everything with some
maneuvering. The motor should not have to move forward IIRC.
The tranny indeed can be R&R'd with the engine in place. We did it to a
Colorado URQ some years ago.
I undid some major surgery while on my back pushing and heaving to re-install
it, but it did work.
