Scott,
Thought that would be too simple to simply work on another tank and put it
in the place
But it was sure easy to get out, being like almost 10 gals smaller ;^)
Think I will practice the cutting and rewelding on it though! Just cut along
the seams, or create a new seam?
What are they generally recoated with, I remember seeing POR-15 advertising
something for this?
Thanks,
Jack Walker

Different tanks. The CGT is 15 gals, the Urq is 24.7gals IIRC, the screen
designs are different too. The procedure for tank cutting and cleaning is
usually to drain, then fill with water, then cut open, recoat (rescreen),
and weld back together.

Does an 85 CGT have the same tank? And are the fittings the same as my 83
UrQ?
I’ve got one that I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with it? I was
required to have it out before the CGT got scraped.
It hasn’t been flushed, and I’d be a little scared to cut it apart w/o some
flushing, so what would you use to flush that’s going to get out old gas and
not be as explosive?
Looking like perfect practice, or if I can do it once replace mine?
