Im with you as far as wanting to see it happen on a grand scale, and I
certainly don't mean to rain on any parade. Again, Im just being
realistic within my own abilities which is one day en route, one day of
social, and one day home. This isnt MY event by any means but if
anything I can be devils advocate within the group because I just can't
budget 5+ days for a single trip like this.

Say this event ends up somewhere in the heartland, will there be a
considerable group further west of the Colorado contingent joining?
When we did Park City in '04 it was hard to get the CA guys to come up
(although we did have some NorCal folks), nobody from SoCal or anywhere
besides Co (and myself in LasVegas) joined us. I consider that UPG to
have been well planned far enough in advance and offering some great
amenities as well as activities. There is no doubt the further east we
travel we'll end up with a higher population of UrQs, anyone else dream
of 40 UrQ's owning the Blue Ridge Parkway for a day?

Make no mistake I'm quite excited to see this taking shape, but
personally I can only maintain my enthusiasm if it stays within my
reach. I still think I was being reasonable in saying to plan it
around the majority of attendees and there will just be extreem
distances to be traveled for those away from the core.

... I guess I'm a bit surprised ... and a bit disappointed by this sort
of
comment ... the audifans somehow managed to get folks from all over the
country
together 10 years ago ... two years in a row.
