While putting the gathering somewhere geographically central, like
Omaha, might sound like a good idea, I think that it would be better to
meet somewhere that people might actually WANT to spend some time. It
is pretty obvious that people are going to need to set aside a week to
do this. Personally, I sure wouldn't want to spend a week of time going
to and from Omaha, especially if I was going to bring someone along who
isn't just in it to talk about cars. About the only thing that I found
memorable about that part of the country was speeding tickets, because
the drive was so boring. (No offense to those who live in the area,
there must be something interesting there. Somewhere...)

I would rather go somewhere interesting where you might actually want to
spend precious vacation time. How about Moab, Utah? That would be an
incredible place to go. Beautiful, with great, uncrowded roads, the
best mountain biking anywhere, awesome hiking, ample camping and motel
accommodations and other things to do other than just sit around and
talk cars. Maybe Mt. Rushmore? Road America in WI? Branson, MO?

I think the reason people came to Pikes Peak is that there is some Audi
quattro history there, and there are lots of places to go nearby.
FWIW, Rhys Millen is rumored to be going to beat 10 minutes on Pikes
Peak next year. Perhaps that would be a good place to meet.

While the thought of a national meet sounds great, it seems that
regional get togethers are much more likely to actually happen.
