I think the key lies in the phrase, "This survey focused on how consumers perceive and 
rank car brands..."
In this case, perception and reality may not line up too well.  It may simply be that 
those consumers surveyed are more aware of Honda's positive 'image' than they are of 
Acura's.

That's Odd that HONDA is highly rated, and Acura is right there on the worst
chart with Audi.   Yet, they are arguably the same cars.  Or at least the
same Development for Chassis and Engines goes into them.
