[urq] The revolt is on!

I agree with Martin..
And from what I heard the Swedish owners agree with that too.
I have an original 1990 RR 20V, but I don't dare using it... =(
If it only was mechanical parts I suppose I could find a solution.. but..
A rabbit or a stone in the front, and I can't buy a new turning signal
glass.
Rear smoked tail lights/ramp are NLA
A car that can't be repaired is useless to me.
There is a lot of value owning my car, but I will buy something else.
Probably a Audi cab that the whole family can appreciate...
And yes, it makes me sick to see that Audi use the urq for commercials.
An friend of mine (Red RR with the red seat belts) will lend his car to Audi
Sweden for a car show.
We joked about that he could send them a late message: "Sorry, my car is
NLA..."
Best regards

Scott,
Just sending this to the group because yet again I am trying to make you see
that this is not a personal attack against you, just a difference of
opinion.
Having owned an all original example I can tell you it would pain me, yes me
(Craig and Mike can't believe it either), to put on anything but an original
part. I appreciate a car that has been taken care of for the last 25 years
and is still as good as it was when few years old.
We are talking about cars that cost $50k when new. Porsche or any other high
profile car maker would not abandon their customers like this.
I have nothing against you personally, however statement suggesting that if
you look hard enough you can find anything, that's just bull. I have been
looking and I can tell you there are plenty of parts that I have yet to
find.
Collector car prices for parts? Well, we (or at least most of us) want
these to be collector cars deep down, but Audi is not making it possible by
their actions.
For a SQ owner not to be able to get a simple windshield which BTW has been
put on millions of 4000 and Euro 80/90? I find that a slap to the face to
someone who just spent 100k Euro on their car because they have see it on
their commercials and just happen to get it cracked while on the Autobahn.
Yes, at least that part is available aftermarket, however if I was paying
100k Euro I would want see the Audi logo on that windshield.
Anal, yes, when it comes to UR (which means Original to anyone who still
doesn't know), it should be UR, not "it was UR but now it's something else"
Peace out.
Martin
