Hi Carl,
I re-posted to the list so everyone will know your progress J.
Glad to read that you know a bit about these oldies, itll make the task a
lot easier.
About the wastegate gasket : I installed two, from a Honda goggle gasket
that I cut to fit, because the flex pipe was leaking a bit, and a new one is
$$$. But in fact, there is an Audi gasket offered on the later urS4 cars
from 1993-97 : 857 253 115. I found this AFTER I spent an hour looking for a
suitable one from another manufacturer.

Hi, thanx for the pictures looks much cleaner than the old rusted block i
have now. Ic a changed stud on the wastegate hehe just made me realize i'm
missing a gasket there. Gotta love how you moved it around tho lol.
I've had a little experience working with mc and later kh motors. Put one in
my 4000s but the wx is new to me no water lines to the turbo, these nasty
brackets, no knock sensors, etc.
I managed to unjam the clutch just unbolting the plate and some hammering
did the trick, but changed the pusher plate anyways, weird it's almost new
but was really rusted. Also put the tranny back in place (had to jack the
front of the engine).
I'll post up some pics of the car later on the list. Starting from how nasty
it is right now till it's all done.
