Hey guys,
Finally got around to some proper trouble shooting my no start/no spark condition. While waiting for a buddy to show up and give the thing a crank while I checked power at the coil, etc. I went into the glovebox, and pulled out the ignition module. Plugged it back in, and she fired right up. Not sure if it had come loose somehow, or if it reset itself by unplugging it, but she is starting and running smoother than before. The smoothness probably because of some vac leaks that I've attended to and the cap and rotor had some corrosion that was cleaned up. So, she's started and running again.
Couple questions.....now that I know everything else is in spec (TDC, hall sender works, etc.) should I replace the cap and rotor since there was some corrosion? I do still get a bit of stumble above 4500 RPM, but not as bad as before I fixed some vac leaks. It idles nicely at about 900 rpm, no initial stumble when revving with no load.....revs freely from idle, no stumble in first gear all the way to redline. Figured some new ignition bits couldn't hurt. Maybe the fuel check valve as well? Suggestions?
Thanks to all who've helped thus far!
Best regards,
Jim Fleischer
