Hi Tim,

I contacted Steve, the organizer of the quattro gathering at Monterey and his response follows.  Feel free to contact him and maybe if we can get the word out that there will be some magazine coverage of the quattro, it might entice some additional attendance.  

Whatever I can do from here to help, let me know.  Otherwise, feel free to contact Steve at your convenience.  I do know that they are trying to make this an annual event, so if it doesn't materialize to something all that big this year, the opportunity should arise again next year.  Either way, there should be some quality examples to check out and photograph this year.

Thanks for thinking about this . what a great opportunity!  Given this is the first event and the short notice I don't think there will be many urqs making their way down to the Historics, but having Mr. Suddard involved will certainly help!  I believe the event on Sunday at 034 Motorsport will be better attended, but I expect Mr. Suddard will be at the Historics or Pebble Beach that day.  

 

Didn't GRM do an article on the UPG in the past?  If not, it will be great to have an opportunity to get our cars and the UPG into the spotlight a little bit.  

 

It is interesting, although perhaps not surprising that Audi fans and BMW fans are to some degree fans of both.  Bill Bremer (the keeper of the urq registry) is also a BMW collector.
