Hi Steven,

If you're talking of the wheel bearings, the car uses 4 (one per wheel) :
around 30$ each but without the flange we see in the kit in ETKA (443 498
625). Order part number 513106 (National bearing, from Federal-Mogul) or the
equivalent from another supplier like SKF (FW109) or FAG.

Wheel%20Bearing&pn=513106)

They should be available everywhere, they are still OEM on Porsche Boxster
and 911.

The job is indeed DIY : I did the 4 bearings on my bench here, in the vise,
with a punch and a hammer and a lot of patience. Heat may have been involved
too, I don't really remember. There was also some beers, hence the preceding
sentence.

But it it MUCH easier on a press, and not very expensive. Just don't forget
the circlips :-)...

Good luck,

Louis-Alain

-----Message d'origine-----

I have a bad 75mm bearing and I order the B90-BMW kit 3 weeks ago from a
place that had a great price but just told me it is still backordered for
another month.  So I cancelled that.   A lister told me that the BMW kit is
all i need for the urq.

I was thinking about the full kit - but I'm just guessing it would have
stuff in the BMW kit - (i.e. everything to swap my urq F bearing).   Also
with extra adapters I might choose the wrong items, vs the BMW only kit.  So
less is more.

I also searched and found some comments on a competing screw type unit
(schl??? brand ) and people claim these things wear out in the screws, and
there is a possibility of damaging the strut housing with all these kits.

My other option is to take the car - or maybe just the strut housing to a
shop, and have them do the work - I guess the Audi method per the manuals is
to use a shop press.

Also I think Katman once offered up a method ,  maybe this involved a press,
breaking the bearing .

The full sirs R&R kit is over $470.
