Thanks for including the info that you're talking about an '85. My initial
impression was that the coolant level was low, this is common on the 4kQs
.... then I went out to check my car and found that there was not a coolant
level sensor. I went to the Bentley and confirmed that on the '85/'86
models there is a coolant level sensor ... and when it flags a problem it
will flash the overheat light. The wiring for the overheat switch is odd
.... it goes through a control module for the A/C Compressor ...
Verify that the level in the coolant reservoir is not low before digging any
further. If the coolant level is good, you might want to unplug the
connector at the bottom of the reservoir.

Does anyone knows what triggers the "red warning coolant" light (not the
green one) everthying looks fine from the gauges, and extra gauges that are
install.
I would like to check the wire or sensor if any one know which one it is.
Location?
Number of Pins?
Max and Min temp ranges?
oil temp is below normal
Water temp is between 180F - 210F (when it goes on)
I have a new antifeezed from the dealear
(50-50mix) dark blue (not the pink or the blue that come n the new cars)
Thermostat is opennng & closing (80C)
once the car gets warm-up the light comes on.
Thx.
The car now runs and ready to be driven after I fix this little issue.
