Yes, indeed, it was rotating a bit but I'm sure the stainless steel sleeve
was not. After seeing that, and since the transmission was not attached to
the engine, I tried to gently tap it out from the inside of the bellhousing,
but it didn't move a millimetre at all. I had to destroy the sensor
completely to remove all the bits from the housing.

Thanks for the kind offer but I may have one from this side of the St
Lawrence.  Tell me, when trying to get your sensor out, were you able to
move the head like me, just not able to pull it out?
