 It really depends on what you came from vs what you are going to.  The urq exhaust with a replacement mid muffler will flow really well, and Audi built the turbo exhausts to flow well IMO.  I've designed and had built a true dual high flow 2.5in exhaust for a full B&B RS2 S car, and the dyno numbers are a on par with the stock and stromung others have put down.  

There is a significant weight savings, 20vt downpipe fitment, and cool sound benefits going to a good high flow 3in exhaust.  IME, you get a noticeable tip-in throttle response improvement as well.  For strictly a performance benefit ala Cheap *ss Racing, I'd put a borla XR1 in place of the stock 10vt center muffler and be done with it.

Speaking strictly SOTP, when I went from 2.5 to 3" on my RS2'd 3B i cant 
say I noticed any major difference.
