[urq] Pinstripes

The OEM pinstripes were custom-cut, there was a different part number for
each section and were available from Audi at $$$$... I think a few guys on
this list do have new-old-stock still... Ben Howell maybe ?

But If I were you, I'd ask a shop with an old guy who did many in the 70's
or 80's (that's old !) to do it with standard pin stripes. It's not very
difficult, but it takes lots of patience, and practice.

What you need to know now is the thickness and spacing of each stripe, which
I'm sure some of the guys here will provide you from their car. Or you can
look at the period OEM brochure, there was some close-shot pictures of the
fenders. And if you can find some, there is an arrow-head at the start of
the stripe that was available back in the day from many stripe suppliers,
but I don't know if their still available. That could make a very realistic
looking job if you can find some.

-----Message d'origine-----

I've just had my quattro resprayed (Same colour - Nile Green) and I want to
replace the silver pinstripes around the body. Any one know of a source of
these - preferably in the UK but not necessarily. When I did the car
originally 8 years ago I left the stripes off and didn't really notice but
this time I'd like to do it properly.
Also any advice on putting them on. Should I do it myself or trust it to a
body shop? Are they easy to apply? Any tips for where they curve around the
bumpers?
Any advice gratefully recieved.
MAny thanks
