[urq] I wish we had more members...

I fear that AoA is mistaking club members for enthusiasts... they are not
necessarily the same thing. Those swelled membership numbers were likely a
function of new owners who were all charged up from the sales experience,
who lost interest by the time the first annual renewal came around and just
tossed it in the round file, hence the significant drop in numbers.

I've come to accept that there will be no corporate-enthusiast link anywhere
near that which exists for Porsche, BMW, or Mercedes.

Sorry, I could not resist chiming in. The "inside" word about what the
$70,000 was/is for was to push membership from 10,000 to 13,000. Instead,
the "inside" word is that membership has now fallen to under 7,500. As AOA
was at the Frank Beddor national event; entry was free in order to make sure
there was a good showing for AOA. That had to cost ACNA at least $15,000.
