[urq] Gurgling noise in cabin...

I did some work on the car today, and the air pocket is the last thing to
track. Every other parts are functioning accordingly to the Bentley.

On cold start, no noise. When the engine temp rise, noise begins. Heat is
then mild, even if the engine is hot. If I rev it a bit, very hot air blow
trough the vents. So either the water pump is not pushing with enough
strength at constant engine speed (idle or highway speeds), or there is
indeed an air pocket in the core that prevent correct flow. Will remove one
pipe to fill it from the engine compartment, but not tonight. There’s a race
tomorrow !

BTW, I found the 0.2 Amp draw that was draining the battery. I made a
mistake with one of the auxiliary lights relays : the driving lamps relay
was constantly energized, even with all switches off. And it was not
traceable via pulling the under dash fuses, since it was energized directly
from the 12+ post at the alternator. I had to reinstall the driving lamps to
find it. I made a rack with a quick connect plug and 4 aux lamps, 2 driving
(triggered via the high beams) and 2 fog lamps. I’m preparing for the
nighttime ice lapping session on March 13th. With 8 lamps overall, it will
be spectacular between the snowbanks

L-A,

I think most of the basics have been covered. If the heater control valve is
not leaking and OS functioning properly, then I suspect a bad connection
somewhere.

The heater core is the highest point in your engine cooling system. If air
pockets develop (at lower engine speeds), that is where they end up. Your
hearing is not deceiving you. Recheck your hose connections and definitely
recheck your heater control valve. As they get old they tend to leak, and
don't like to be moved around when replacing the heater core. Of course, if
you already replaced the valve then ignore that suggestion.

Good luck.

Thinking of it, Mike, i'm not sure I did the cables and flap thing
perfectly. That would explain the heat issue at high speed. Will check that
today.

Keith, I'll check also the pipes, might explain the noise if the heater core
is "directional" flow-wise.

Steeve, how come an air pocket be there for such a long period ? I'm
puzzled.

The heater valve in the engine compartment is OK, I already checked it.
