[urq] new battery

Don't you hate that sort of thing!!! I just had a similar issue with the
V8Q I picked up in Colorado so very long ago ... as if you don't have enough
things that you KNOW you need to do already! :-)

Had a similar deal on the ury after I got it back into service ... I've run
the Optima in the past, in fact I believe it was in the car when I got it
running again ... dead this time. You know, I just went and picked up the
battery they had at the local FLAPS ... works just fine. If and when the
urq becomes a daily driver I'll be a bit more worried about having a battery
that won't leave me stranded at the other end of an errand. I figure the
new battery should give me a good couple years of good service, and more
once I get it back into the garage and on a trickle charger ...

Had the urq out this evening to heat it up and fill it up before the cold
hits Houston tomorrow. Freakin' flat tire to start. Don't know why
yet.will have to check tomorrow. It cranked right away, but the dash lights
and headlights seemed dim. When I realized I had the flat, I hit the
flashers.no blinking. Turn signals worked fine. Brought it home and hooked
it up to the charger and got a vacillating needle initially, but then the
fully charged light lit up solid. It may be six years old, so. It's a
Sears DieHard International that has served me well; 31248, and of course,
no longer available. Now it's a less than stellar rated 33348. What's the
latest battery wise with you guys? Odyssey, Interstate?

Thanks,

Steve
