The speedo "waving" is moisture/residue that has accumulated over the years
between the outer and inner speedo "wheels". I have tried to repair myself
without much luck. Deluxe speedometer located in Denver (Evans and Santa
Fe. aprox.) will repair and calibrate for around $100. Have them put in new
odometer plastic gears while they are in there. Different variations of the
same cruise control apparatus has been used by Audi from 1979 to 2004 where
it then became dynamic. There is a control module (I think it is located in
back of the glove box on your car Brandon.) I would first try cleaning the
pins and contacts both on the box and harness. If that doesn't do it; I
would replace the control box itself. It has to be the same exact no. but
there are literally millions of them around. /Peter
