Yes you can.  I've heard many mixed results about the quality and sophistication of the Wedge brackets for the typ-85.  Having talked with the nice folks at Wedge (I forget the gent's name) the reality was their bracket is slide-in to the 3-mounting points, ditches the front fore/aft adjuster mechanism and secures itself from sliding via pinch bolts in the seat tracks.  From there you then add a slider set in between the seat and the bracket to get back your fore/aft movement.

I lost interest in that setup due to the higher mounting height of the seat base as you already sit higher in the Ideal/Classic line since there's almost no give in the seat base relative to the stock seats.  My BTDT experience in days-gone-by in ANOTHER red 84 with Ideals and Recaro's original brackets was that you want the minimum elevation possible if you are 6ft tall.
