[urq] Ur-quattro Trademark?

Call me a cynic, but my ever so basic knowledge of copyright and trademark law suggests to 
me that they can register any trademark they like as long as no one challenges it!

In some Audi sales material I received in an e-mail recently I noticed the
"Circle-R" registered trademark after the word "Ur-quattro" ... I did not
think Audi coined the term, did they?
