I think you missed my tongue in cheek intimation that the New GM will be the New Trabant (read Government issue).
Like you, I also thought that the irrational attacks on Toyota by the government "influenced" media and government "controlled" NTHSA would by "coincidence" benefit the government "owned" GM. Hmmmmmm........

Actually, I think he's going to try and put us all into US government produced vehicles... AKA General Motors.  Doesn't it strike anyone as ironic that there just happens to be a huge rash of unexplained safety failures among foreign cars all of the sudden?
