Yes -11,000 were made but us guys in the Colony's only got less than 650.
Nice ones are out there but getting harder and harder to come by.

Same questions here... but since my car is a well worn daily driver, the
ecision is easier to make. It needs a paint, front seats and maybe a new
ead (at least a head gasket job...) so I'm questioning the path to follow
oo. A period correct rally-inspired paint job, some new seats (Corbeau,
parco, Momo), a cage and a mildly tuned 10V (probably EFIed) is the goal.
To ease your decision, and mine too, just say to yourself that with 11 000
ars built, finding another nicer unrestored urQ will be relatively easy. If
eed be...

Hello All,
I have been tormenting myself back and forth on my 83 ur-q trying to decide
f keeping it mostly stock is the way to go (interior, exterior, with some
inor mods under the hood for better power & reliability) OR if I should
ake the path I'd like to, and go weekend warrior track car with it (20vt,
aged, not much left stock, etc).
Now some would say the resale is only there for an unmolested car, which in
ost cases I would say is correct, but after seeing several A2 rally
eplicas hit the market for well over what even the most pristine of
nmolested Ur-q's are selling for really has me second guessing which path
o take on this project. Now, all in all resale really doesnt matter as I
lan to be buried in the car, and from that fact alone I should be able to
ake up my mind and just do what I want... but theres something else....
his little thing called responsibility that is kicking me in the butt
elling me to not wreck the resale on the car making it in to what I want
pposed to what it used to be.
Insight appreciated, I just found it interesting that a replica of a rally
ar would sell for double what a pristine perfect museum quality Ur-q would
o for...
