timeserts are better than helicoil. Timesert says you can actually do it
with the head installed, but Ive never tried it. Their 'secret' is to
use a thick grease on the tap to capture all the shavings, instead of an
oil. It would probably work fine, but Id be more concerned about the
missing electrodes! Maybe hunt around the cylinder with a magnet (if
they are ferrous..?)
