[urq] brought home an '85 this weekend

Seems like it was one of the "lost" ones. Car has been sitting since '89,
has no engine. Hoping to fit in my 3b this winter. Zermatt silver, gray
leather interior. Still on new in '89 pirellis on stock ronals. Several
body dents from storage issues over the years; nothing that isn't fixable.
Paint is OK with some challenged places.

Chassis is very clean, underneath looks new. No rust other than where
damaged in storage, and that will be cleaned off and primed asap.

Will need a number of things, as time and budget allows. In no particular
order:

Need a sunroof seal; has anyone repaired or made their own? Also need the
rear lid strut supports, and I'd like to adapt the hood to a gas pressure
strut as well.

Driver's door panel in gray; actually, both inner door panels were cut for
speakers, drivers also has water damage from a broken window.

Headlights. Stock 4x and grill long gone, currently has aero USA coupe/4000
lights and grill. So, functional, but as I recall, those lights resemble
night lights; dimly lights up the world, but not focused in any one area.

Don't have any owner books like maintenance folder, etc., but oddly enough,
seem to remember having an '85 owner's manual or two in storage. Have to
dig that out.

Both side mirrors are floppy; have to take them off to see what broke. I
assume same as 4k and coupe?

Missing the power steering pump and any other components attached to the
original engine, still have the big box a/c compressor, but don't have a
receiver drier or condenser.

(Will use a radiator from the '91 coupe).

Other questions I'll figure out in time:

Leather interior shows the years of sun. Driver's side seat bottom rusted
up from broken window; will have to replace it. Is a 4kq frame the same?
Hoping to adapt the leather seat covers/foam from my '91 coupe to the urq
manual seat bottoms.

I think I have a set of basically new 200q20v rear brake calipers; will
purchase the urs4/6 or v8 rotors for that. I have a set of G60s I can throw
on the front, but wasn't sure what rotor works with that. Also have the rs2
brackets/996 calipers over A8 rotors from my '91 coupe, assuming the offset
is the same, but that will preclude using the R8s and I like that look.

What/where is the best place to put an intercooler? Have several used ones
of various makes/models, but don't know much about where the URQ one was
mounted.

Any advice on cleaning out the fuel tank? No idea of the condition, but the
fuel has been in there for 22 years.

I have a few of the 10v parts still with the car; oil pan, air box and
injection components, etc, if anyone has a need.

Enough for now; will have to start a build thread on Motorgeek. Still need
to sell off the rest of the '91 coupe parts and my '81 Scirocco, plus a
collection of parts.
