Thanks for te suggestions, all.
After continued tinkering last night, it seems that the car is giving me a single sporadic spark. Had all 5 plugs out at the same time, and even grounded the coil and saw that it sparked temporarily and then stopped. So from talking around, this is pointing to a CIS issue.
With that said, where do I look? Fuel pump was hard wired by the previous owner, so it's always running when the key is on. Is there a relay I should be checking (hear clicking from in/behind the dash when cranking) or possibly a blown fuse? From looking around I didn't find any blown fuses, but I might e missing something.
Any and all help is much appreciated! Trying to get this running sober can get it off the trailer and into a garage again!
Thanks!
-j

Also peek behind the timing belt cover to be sure it's still intact. If the fuel pump is running, I think that means both reference sensors are OK and probably the hall sensor in the distributor (which means the timing belt is still there). Of course, that's assuming no one hard-wired the fuel pump circuit in the past...
