I guess you have a problem similar to mine.
The pushrod is attached to the pedal via a u-shaped thingy (a clevis ?) with
a steel pin an a circlip at the pedal. On my car, that pin enlarged the hole
in the pedal so the adjustment on the rod was too short. I had to fabricate
a bushing to recenter the steel pin in the ovalized hole. I used a steel nut
with a flange that I machined on my bench grinder to conform to the ovalized
hole of the pedal. I drilled the threads to the steel pin diameter. Press
fitted it in the pedal, it is still on the car today. Solid clutch pedal
with no play at all.
