Just a thought here... 

Motorcycle chain lube? It's designed to go on at a very low viscosity to flow in around O-rings and such, then stiffen up so it hangs around. 

Might be worth a try.

As an alternative , spring sleeves can be made of aluminium .

I have some of the original sleeves wich I salvaged when I replaced them 
all . 
No more then the stamp on the enveloppe ...Let me know if you need them . 

@Dennis , what do you use to grease the window tracks ? 
I gave it a spry of WD40 once , and that really improved things , but didn't 
last long .
