[urq] Adding Gauges to Quattro

I decided to add some VDO gauges to my 83 Quattro. So I built up a panel for them under the dash and had it covered in a vinyl that very closely matches. So now I need to install the senders. I'm curious to know how others have handled this. I am installing coolant temperature, oil pressure and temperature and voltage. The voltage was easy, but I'm a bit puzzled as to the best way to handle the rest.

First, does anyone know if the stock senders deliver the correct signals for VDO Cockpit series gauges. It sure would be nice to just splice into a few wires. Does the Quattro even have an oil temp sender?

Assuming I can't use the factory senders, what is the best way to install the new ones. I'm having some trouble relating the actual car to the published wiring diagrams, so I'm not even sure which sender is which. I'm using the diagrams in the red Bentley book.

I found a sender at the bottom of the primary radiator, which I assume is coolant. But then I found two senders at the back of the cylinder head. One appears to control the cooling fans (rectangular connector with two red/black wires and a green white), the other is mystery to me (black boot with blue/yellow and blue/brown wires).

Thanks for your help..
