Oil temp :
Behind the cranckshaft pulley you'll find the oil pump
On the lower right you'll see a large nut .
That is what holds the oil pressure regulator .
Get part nr 035191521 , that is thesame nut , but with an integrated
oil temperature sender .
That sensor can also be found on the coupe GT , and the later style coupe
And if I'm not mistaking , some of the 200's ( 5K ) also came with the
sensor .
Carefull , when you remove the nut , a spring and a valve will fall out .

Oil Pressure :
On the left side of the engine block there will be one or two oil pressure
contacts . These are switches , not sensors .
>From memory , you need to replace the brown switch with an oil pressure
sensor .
Usually that sensor comes with the gauge .
The sensor will have an "S" and a "G" on it .
Connect the witre from the removed switch to the S .
This will control your oil pressure warning light and buzzer if you have one
.
Connect the "G" to the oil pressure gauge .
If yoiu don't hve a sensor with the gauge, get one from a coupe GT or later
style coupe .
Thread in the engine block is metric , M10*1.00

Water temp .
You'll have to add a sensor because all the others are used , and you
can't share a sensor using a mechanical gauge .
Best place to do this is the water outlet on the cilinder head that goes to
the radiator .
Most of the time there are unused bosses that can be bored and tapped .

Voltage :
Basicly an wire will do .

Subject: [urq] Adding Gauges to Quattro
