[urq] Fuel pump check valve

Folks can I ditch the check valve on the outlet side of my 044 Bosch fuel pump with my Motronic ABZ motor? I have ditched the accumulator but was not sure about the check valve. Thanks. Also does anyone know the fitting size of the male (I believe) fitting that connects the hard plastic line after the accumulator to the steel fuel line heading to the motor? I believe the male fitting is on the steel line but could be mistaken. Thanks again.
