[V6-12v] Blower speed control

Frank,
If the fan runs at higher speeds but turns completely off at settings
above the off position, the resistor pack is fried. The pack is located
in the air duct above the glove box. It's held in there by one Philips
#2 screw and has a 4-pin connector on it.
If you want to fix it yourself (at your own risk of course) the
resistances are (AFAIR):
2.4 ohm, 1.0 ohm, and 0.4 ohm.
The resistor pack is roughly $100 from the parts dealer, $40 from the
junkyard. Resistors from other VW brands fit as well (my 94 90S has a
resistor pack from a Jetta in it).
