I have been told, and it has been my experience, that you must change the copper washer on the
drain plug to ensure a good seal, and to prevent the plug from seizing. Since i've done this I haven't
had any problems at all getting that plug out. My first three oil changes, or attempts at oil changes
were horrible. Not even the Jiffy Lube guy hanging one a 2' long wrench in a pit under the car could
loosen that plug ( eventually the manager came out to see what the commotion was, and yelled at
the guy to get off that car. He saw it had an aluminum pan and didn't want to pay for a new one).

After a new plug and a 15cent copper washer, no problems.
