I'm just about to replace my coolant temp sensor in an attempt to cure the
long-standing hesitation. I'll let you all know how it goes. In an interesting
(?) take on the 'tooth counting' method, I'm waiting for the special tools that
I ordered for the timing belt procedure to come through. As soon as they do,
I will, in a sense, have a way of checking how close a fully equipped
(non-Audi) shop can get the timing belt to spot on without the tools, as I'm going to
check the timing WITH the tools... I'll let you know whether they were able to
get it spot-on, or whether it's out...
